Overview
The Multi-Roll Tension Leveling Line is a high-precision strip flatness correction system engineered for demanding metal processing environments. By integrating continuous tension control with a multi-roll leveling unit—typically configured with 19 or 23 rolls—this line delivers exceptional shape correction and residual stress relief in a single pass. It is widely adopted in stainless steel, copper, aluminum, and advanced high-strength steel (AHSS) production lines where surface quality and dimensional stability are critical.
Working Principle
The process combines stretch-bend leveling with multi-roll micro-bending. First, the strip is placed under controlled longitudinal tension to induce elastic-plastic deformation. It then passes through a densely arranged roll set, where repeated alternating bending neutralizes internal stresses and eliminates shape defects such as edge waves, center buckles, twisting, and coil set. Compared with conventional roller Levelers, the multi-roll approach applies finer, more uniform corrections with significantly lower tension requirements.

Key Advantages
· Ultra-High Flatness: Achieves flatness levels as low as 3 I-Units or better, suitable for electronic-grade and optical applications.
· Effective Stress Relief: Minimizes residual stress to prevent warping, cracking, or distortion during laser cutting, stamping, welding, and heat treatment.
· Broad Process Window: Handles strip thicknesses from ultra-thin foils (~0.05 mm) to medium-gauge plates, and accommodates soft, intermediate, and full-hard tempers.
· High Productivity: Stable operation at line speeds up to 200 m/min, with quick changeovers between material grades and widths.
· Equipment Protection: Reduced peak tension lowers mechanical loads on bridles, bearings, and drive systems, extending service life and reducing maintenance costs.
Typical Materials & Applications
· Stainless Steel: 300 & 400 series for appliances, elevators, kitchen equipment, and decorative panels.
· Copper & Copper Alloys: Electronic connectors, lead frames, heat exchangers, and battery foil.
· Aluminum & Alloys: Can stock, lithographic sheets, automotive body panels, and packaging foil.
· Advanced Alloys: Titanium, nickel-based alloys, and high-strength steels for aerospace, energy, and transportation sectors.
